110mm Pencil Popper - 16g

The 110mm Pencil Popper is a smaller version of the CWOLF surface pencil, weighing 16g.
I wanted a long, slim profile rather than the broader shape found in many pencil poppers. The idea is to suggest a sandeel or other small baitfish skittering across the surface.
Although it is designed to fish on the surface, the lure sinks when left at rest and rises as soon as you begin retrieving. Try a fairly brisk retrieve, working the rod tip with short, sharp movements to make the lure skip and dart across the water.
I’ve found this smaller version particularly productive, but as with any lure, its usefulness depends on the conditions and how bass are feeding. Vary the pace and action until you find what works.
