135mm Floating Needlefish
The 135mm Floating Needlefish offers a different way to fish the CWOLF Needlefish concept. At 14g, it is designed for very shallow water where a conventional sinking needlefish may spend too much time below the fish.
It can be fished slowly, with pauses, allowing the lure to sit partly submerged at the surface. With hooks of similar weight, the lure should sit level and half-submerged at the surface. Using a heavier hook at the tail will make it hang slightly tail-down.
Try it over shallow, weedy or rocky ground, particularly where weed reaches the surface or rocks are visible above the water. Keep in touch with the lure by taking up slack as wind or current moves your line. Occasional twitches or a few quicker turns of the reel can add movement.
It is a slower, more deliberate approach than working a conventional surface lure. As with any lure, its usefulness depends on the conditions and how the bass are feeding.
